Easy to cook Kassler with apple

Kassler can be eaten with just about anything. For those who love apples, this article shows you how to cook succulent Kassler with an apple twist. It only has nine ingredients in total, and the preparation time is about 20 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 6 slices Kassler (smoked pork)
  • 125 ml/ half a cup of white wine
  • 125ml/ half a cup of natural apple juice
  • 2 onions
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 3 large green apples
  • Pepper and salt
  • Oil

Preparation

  • Slice the onions and the garlic cloves. Saute the sliced pieces in a pan until they are soft and golden brown. Remove it from the pan and set aside. Place then pan back on the fire and put the pork chops in, ensuring that they are browned on both sides. This should take about 4 minutes per side of the chops.
  • Season the meat with freshly ground black pepper and salt. Once cooked, place the sauteed onions and garlic back into the pan. Pour half of the apple juice as well as the wine into the pan.
  • Cover the saucepan, reduce the heat, and bring it to a simmer and let it cook for about 20 minutes until the Kassler are nearly done. Ensure you turn them around while they cook.
  • At this point, the chops should not be ready yet. Add the remaining wine and apple juice as well as the sliced apple pieces.
  • Let it simmer until the apple slices are soft and the meat becomes tender.
